"Sri Subraya Vishnumurthy Navooreshwara Temple" is located in Navoor village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Jagadguru is the home of Navoor Narayana, who was revived by the footsteps of Sri Madhvacharya.When Shri Sode Vadirajitheertha with his disciple Shri VedaVedi Tirtha visited Navoor Agrahara, Sri Vedanta went to the Netravati River for a bath. Due to the lack of water flow in the river, they used their magic wand across the river. When the Nandavara kings came to the Navoor Agrahara Math and prayed to Sri Vadiraja Tirtha, the Vadiraja thunders were cleared to allow water to flow. Pleased by this, the kings of Navoor and some of the encircling parts of the country made their way to the Sri Sode Math. The place of Nethravathi which was worshiped by Sri Veda Vedi Tirtha was also known as Danda Tirtha (Nirakatte).

The peculiarity of the peninsula is that in this place the water of the river once reverses and then flows westward. Lord Shiva's jalaka happens in this place. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was worshiped by the native Brahmins in a place donated by the kings of Nandavar. The temple is a sacred shrine and is celebrated as a Brahmaratosavataka and is worshiped by the devotees of the surrounding villages.Sri Subraya Vishnumurthy Navooreshwara Swamy, the magnificent shrine of God, has now been remedied by natural disasters. The temple of Lord Navooreshwara (Umamaheswara) is a beautiful temple dedicated to the sanctum sanctorum. Sri Subraya Vishnumurthy Navooreshwara God has been blessing with the marriage, children's birth, education and health for the devotees since time immemorial. Devotees perform ritual worship, milpaayasa, ornamental worship and kartika puja in the form of prayers, especially to Lord Vishnu. The silver herd, like the cradle, is widely offered. Rudrabhishek is being spread in the form of Sri Navooreshwara Deva and is protecting the devotees by granting them a healthcare life.
